An amazing homecoming

Sigh... ya ever have one of those nights where everything seemed to go perfectly? That basically summed up homecoming for me. Ya see, my girlfriend and I go to different schools, and though that may seem like a problem, we've got things like youth group on Wednesdays and fairly free weekends, and then whatever may happen to come in between (though that almost never happens). It's really great to spend time with her, but it seems like its never for long enough. (maybe 4 hours at most).

And that's where homecoming came in. Due to some scheduling issues, she wasn't able to come to my school's homecoming, which in all honesty is fine with me, because tickets for both of us would've cost $145. Now I'm not gonna lie, i am not a rich kid with money out the wazoo, or even a job, though i wish i had one. She means a lot to me, but there was just no possibility of being able to afford dinner, the dance, and a picture with prices like that... saddley. So, thanks to a friend of mine, we were able to go to dinner before the dance, which added to the total time i got to spend with my certain someone. All in all, we were able to spend 7 amazing hours together, without anything going wrong whatsoever (despite my paranoia).

Also, thanks to my awesome step-dad and grandparents, I had all of the necessities for the dance (like freaking clothes to wear to it, they weren't even accepting kids to show if they didn't have a tie, or dress shoes. Wtfruit is up with that anyway?)

How to use duct tape in an awsome manner (for him and her)

How to make a colored Duct tape wallet

Rip a 10 inch (25.4cm) long piece of your basic color (silver in the example pictures) with the sticky side up.

Place another piece (10 inches as well) sticky side down, on top of the first piece, halfway down.

Fold the top portion down and flip the whole thing over.

Place a piece of the other color tape across, just overlapping the non-sticky piece.

Flip and continue the pattern of flipping and adding the original color until the piece is about 8.5 inches (21.6cm) long.

Fold the sticky edge over, as before, to make the piece 7 inches (17.8 cm) long.

Cut down the sides to make it 8.5 inches (21.6cm) wide, make sure both sides are straight.

Lay the sheet so that the color strip is on the back, at the top. Fold the bottom up so that it is .5 inches (1.3cm) from the top.

Fold in half the other way, and set aside. It may be a good idea to place something heavy on top of it, to keep it folded.
The Pockets:

Make two 10 inch (25.4cm) by 3.5 inch (8.9cm) strips in the same was as before, using the accent color.

Cut both in half (5 inches, 12.7cm) and trim the edges.
Fold the small rectangles so that the back is .5 inches (1.3cm) longer (the front should be 1.5 inches (3.8cm) in length).

Repeat this step for all 4 rectangles.

Take two pockets and put them so that the back of one is on top of the front of the other. Make sure it is straight and tape them with a piece that folds over both sides. Repeat on the other pockets.

Trim them again.

Put one on the left side of the wallet. Measure how long the pockets need to be. They should be right along the bottom and 1/4 of an inch (.6cm) from the side.

Measure 1/4 of an inch from the center and mark that on the pockets. Cut along the line.

Repeat for the right side.

Take a piece of the original color, about 10 inches (25.4cm), and attach it to the outside of the wallet so that it covers the same color along the bottom Do not stick this to anything on the inside just yet.

Place the pockets in their correct places.

Take a 5 inch (12.7cm) piece of the pocket' colored tape and, using an X-ACTO knife, cut it to be 1 1/4 inch (3.2cm) wide.

Attach that piece to the center of the wallet over the pockets. Place one end at the bottom of the wallet and wrap the top into the bill fold.

Fold over the bottom piece of tape so that it holds the pockets down. Trim the edges.
Sides:

Take a piece of the pocket color that is 5 inches long and tape it to the left side so that 1.5 inches (3.8cm) are on the outside, and the rest folds over to hold the pocket on the inside.

With the X-ACTO knife, cut off the ends very close to the wallet.

Repeat on the right side.

Take a 10 inch (25.4cm) piece of the pocket color. Attach it to the cutting mat. Trim the ends and cut it to a width of 1 1/4 inch (3.2cm).

Use the X-ACTO knife to score and cut the tape holding the bill fold closed. Cut to the edge of the wallet.

Put one end on the inside of the bill fold, behind the pockets. Place about 1/2 inch (1.3cm) inside there.

Keeping it straight along the edge, tape the piece down to the bottom of the wallet. Tape it around the bottom edge, making sure the ends of the other tape is smooth.

Continue along the outside, straight. Bring it back to the inside and let it tape to the inside of the bill fold about 2 inches (5.1cm). Keep it close to the edge.

Repeat on the other side.

With an X-ACTO knife, score the two pockets that were just covered.

Pull the pockets open and saw the pocket to right near the edge of the pocket. Do not go to the edge of the wallet.

Repeat for all four pockets and the bill fold.

How to make a colored duct tape tote

Make the bottom of the purse by drawing a 5.5 inch by 3 inch (14cm by 7.6cm) rectangle on a piece of paper. Apply duct tape to the back of the paper rectangle. Cut out the rectangle.

Line the outside of the bottom of the purse by applying duct tape to the back (paper side), leaving at least 1/4 inch (.6cm) of the sticky part showing.

Make two long sides by making two 7 inch (17.75cm) long duct tape fabric (laying duct tape out and overlapping the edges to form a piece of duct tape) of 3 pieces of duct tape.

Tape the inside color of duct tape over the outside pieces, sticky side to sticky side, in a perpendicular direction. You will need to leave at least a .25 inch (.6cm) part of the sticky tape showing on one end. Use the bottom to mark with a pen how wide the inside should be.

Know that if you place the two sides next to each other as you apply the inside color of tape, you can cut them apart when you are finished.

Make two narrow sides by making a 5.5 inch (14cm) long by 3 pieces wide fabric of duct tape with the outside color. Use the bottom template to mark with a pen how wide the inside should be. Apply the inside color leaving at least 1/4 inch (.6cm) sticky part showing on the long sides.

Fit the sides together matching up the inside tape and sticking together with the exposed sticky parts.

The three little red dots at the top are gummy bears overseeing the project.Trim the top and bottom of the purse to be straight. Trim the sides of the purse leaving 1/8-1/4 inch (3-6mm) sticking out.

Attach the sides to the bottom of the purse. This can be a bit tricky. Start with one long side, laying it next to the inside bottom. Press onto the exposed sticky part of the bottom. Repeat for each side until it is attached. Trim the corners of the bottom so that the sides will stick out again.
Make handles for the purse by folding a piece of duct tape into thirds. Attach these to the purse with a strip of the inside color of duct tape.

An update

Time for an update by the B-rad

First off, if you notice the time I wrote this and think its odd, well then Im glad my readers arent complete idiots. There was a half day at school today, meaning we get out at 12:30 so thats why Im blogging so early today. Well, we had our homecomming parade/peprally/candy throwin/float gloating day today, and my hands HURT. If i havent mentioned earlier, I play in my school band and play the snare (the drum that isnt huge). Now, you might not realize but, after playing for over an hour strait ur hands start to CALLACE from playing as loud as we do (we've turned breaking sticks into a game at this point) and your shoulders want to DIE cuz you're carrying a 22lbs weight around on 'em. We did pretty well, and the peprally was... peppy (shocker right?) and now we've got a football game in 5 1/2 hours to go to, but because im in band, I have to show in 3 hours and 20 minutes or risk an angry band director (you've no idea how much a stressed irishman can freak untill youve seen our Schmidty) to get dressed, get my snare ready, warm up for the show, and then march over. BLEACH...

But I guess i shouldnt complain, ive got some time to unwind, and play my bass. Ah yes, my bass. Ive officially named her "Sandrah" due to the sleekness about her. Now that Im a little more aquainted with her, I can say the fire that first brewed in with me when i found out the awsome might of the bass has been re-kindled with the receiving of it. By "it" I mean the bass. Now, the band and I just need to get together for a practice and we can see how she fits in. Hehe... lets hope my voice gets better before then

And that reminds me, My sickness has for the most part left me, and now i just have a majorly stuffed nose, and a VERY odd sounding voice. I litterally cannot speak at a certain highness of my voice. It just sounds like someone scrapeing their fingers accross a guitar when I try to, and my voice sounds deeper cuz of my nose. Lets hope it passes soon.

Well, thats all for now! I am gonna go chill!

A bittersweet monday

Well... todays been really... odd for me. I got my bass, and there was no school today but... I cant stand for more than a few seconds without feeling like im going to pass out. In other words, im really really sick... What is a guy supposed to do when he needs to "drink plenty of fluids" and yet, it hurts to swallow? Well unfortunately, he's supposed to drink. I even woke up around 5:30 this morning with a killer headache, and couldnt get back to sleep. So i just had to lie there in bed with a sore throat, wishing i had some advill and a glass of water for about 3 to 4 hours. But on the bright side, I finally got my bass. It does buzz to some degree, but if u play it properly (ok mabey "properly" isnt the right word. More along the lines of plucking versus slapping or poping the strings, which is good because i dont really play those styles) it sounds fine.

I havent even really played it today. Im SO sick that i wasnt willing to play the item ive awaited to receive for 3 months and 6 days. So yea... bittersweet day.

How to REALLY screw with peoples heads

Well, since i was too much of a bum to make some other "how to's" Im doing two this week, so for those of you reading, be prepared to MESS WITH YOUR FRIENDS MINDS!!!

HOW TO HYPNOTIZE A CHICKEN (i learned this one from an uncle of mine)
1. Lay the chicken down on its side, with one wing tucked under its body, and its head flat on the floor.

2. Use your left hand to gently hold the chiken steady

3. with the index finger of your right hand trace a line, 1 foot long, straight out from the tip of its beak. Repeat this movement until the chicken is in a hypnotic trance.

4. To wake your chicken, gradually raise your voice until it comes to, and runs away.

HOW TO TELL IF SOMEONE IS LYING.

1. Unusual stuttering or stammering may suggest that tehy are nervous and could be an indication to lying

2. Note any changes in the person's pattern of speech. See if they seem high pitched, put on a silly voice, speak too quickly or slwly, or use unusual words. For instance, does it sound as though the person has memoriezed their story by heart?

3. Watch out for visible signs of stress or nervousness - sweating, twitching, scratching, rubbing, looking away, shifting around, crossing and uncrossing the legs, rapid breating - all of these indicate that the person might not be telling the whole truth.

4. There are other signs to consider. Get the person to go over the story again - but not in sequence. ask probing questions. Does he or she seem confused? Or appear to contradict him or herself? Ask about unimportant detail (along the lines of "What color was his t-shirt"). Someone who is telling the truth is less likely to get muddled and anxious, even though they might have forgotten some of the details.

5. Some say that if the "suspect," when questioned, looks to the left, they are inventing and if they look to the right, they are remembering. Perhaps you could put this theory to the test.

GAHHH!!!!!!!

GAHHH!!!!!!! ok i am soooo ticked right now! My bass guitar was supposed to show up today (thursday) which was pretty sweet, cuz that ment i had two days to make sure it worked, and fiddle around with it to become more affiliated with it before our next band practice (hopefully saturday) because I have no school band practice, or a football game to go to, and then the weekend would hit, but as it would turn out, its comming in on monday. That just means ill have no time to really play it due to the fact that durring the week, ive almost no time to do anything whatsoever because i dont even get home untill around 6:30pm after school due to really retarded stuff, then I have about an hour of homework, not to mention school band practice I have to do on a weekly basis. So yea... so much for that.

TOTAL BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
